A membership price is not a GLP-1 price

FOLX offers weight and metabolic care within a broader LGBTQIA+ focused health service. Its current metabolic-health page (opens in a new tab) says clinicians can prescribe semaglutide or tirzepatide when appropriate, safe and wanted by the member. Joining gives you access to care; it does not guarantee a prescription or establish which formulation will be offered.

The getting-started guide (opens in a new tab) lists membership at $43.99 a month or $349 paid annually. The roughly $29 monthly equivalent is therefore an access fee on the annual option, not a medication package. The self-pay price list (opens in a new tab) adds $159 for an intake visit and $79 for a follow-up. Labs and medication remain separate.

Build a budget around the whole care plan

Membership includes messaging, care navigation, community resources and appointment access. The how-it-works page (opens in a new tab) separates those benefits from paid clinical services. A first self-pay visit plus one monthly membership would be $202.99 before medication or labs, assuming no trial or discount. That illustration is not a complete GLP-1 quote, and the clinician may recommend further visits or testing.

FOLX accepts insurance for some services, but network participation and covered benefits need checking separately. A covered visit does not establish that your prescription or tests are covered. Ask for the expected visit schedule, laboratory charges and pharmacy price together. Our lab-cost guide helps distinguish necessary testing from a bundled-price assumption.

The pharmacy choice is useful, but get the actual quote

The metabolic-health page says medication can go to a pharmacy of your choice. Its terms (opens in a new tab) distinguish FOLX Health, Inc., the platform, from clinical providers and pharmacies. An individual prescription still needs a clinician’s evaluation. The public pages do not establish one GLP-1 dispensing pharmacy, fixed drug price or formulation for everyone.

Ask which medication is being proposed, whether it is a branded or compounded preparation, and what the selected pharmacy will charge with your insurance or as self-pay. Do not infer a GLP-1 supply arrangement from a hormone-therapy pharmacy benefit. If a compound is proposed, use our pharmacy verification guide; compounded preparations are not FDA-approved.

Nationwide membership has service-specific limits

FOLX advertises adult membership nationwide and offers a service map (opens in a new tab) to check care and insurance options. That is not a guarantee of a particular medication or clinician in every location. Confirm metabolic-health availability for your state before paying for access, especially if you travel for work or expect to use a particular insurance plan.

The program describes patient-led goals, laboratory monitoring, side-effect support and attention to eating-disorder history. Those features may suit someone seeking metabolic care within an existing broader care relationship. They are descriptions of the service, not proof of treatment outcomes or a substitute for the clinician’s assessment of whether telehealth is suitable.

Cancel membership separately from booked care

The current how-it-works FAQ says membership can be canceled through your account, with access continuing until the paid billing period ends. The terms also incorporate separate membership and appointment cancellation policies. Ending membership should not be assumed to cancel a booked visit, pharmacy order or laboratory charge, or to refund an annual payment. Obtain those conditions before committing.

FOLX is worth comparing for its inclusive care model, ongoing support and pharmacy choice. It is less useful as a single-price medication comparison because the final cost depends on visits, testing, drug selection and insurance. Choose it for the care arrangement you need, after pricing those separate parts, rather than because the annual membership equivalent looks like a low GLP-1 price.

What stands out

  • Integrates metabolic care with broader LGBTQIA+ focused services
  • Publishes self-pay visit prices separately from membership
  • Allows pharmacy choice and use of insurance where applicable

What to check

  • Membership excludes visits, medication and labs
  • No fixed semaglutide or tirzepatide price established
  • State-specific care and insurance availability need confirmation
  • Separate appointment and membership cancellation terms apply

Sources and review scope

Public information checked in November 2026. Prices and eligibility can change. We have not enrolled in treatment, independently tested medications or verified the licenses of the clinicians and pharmacies involved in an individual prescription. Compounded medications are not FDA-approved; studies of approved brands do not establish that a compounded product has the same safety or effectiveness.
